  • Prayer Shawl Ministry

The group gathers once a month to either crochet or knit prayer shawls once a month. Each gathering begins with a prayer for all those who will benefit from the ministry and then they bless all of the shawls that have been completed.

The prayer shawls are then placed in the prayer shawl box in the Narhtex by the main doors going into church.

Any parishioner who is in need of healing or knows someone who needs prayer is invited to take a shawl from the box. The women of this ministry ask that the parishioner sign the book located in the lid of the box with their name and the name of the person who will be receiving the prayer shawl so that the person can be included in prayer.

  • Padre Pio Prayer Group

The Padre Pio Prayer Group of Chester County was formed with permission from Cardinal Justin Rigali and San Giovanni Rotundo, and meets at SS. Philip and James the 3rd Saturday of each month. We follow the format laid out by Padre Pio, which includes adoration, mass, rosary, and the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Through the intercession of this great saint we pray for our priests, for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life, and for the sick and suffering of our parish families.
